Champions

Yesterday, the last matches from the championship were played, and as everyone expected, Oriente won. They just needed one more point to be unreachable in the table, and they got it. Oriente tied 1-1 against The Strongest in La Paz. After this, Oriente ended up with 40 points, followed by Bolivar with 36, who lost against Blooming. So there is no doubt that Oriente deserved the cup. After that last match, Oriente's coach, Gustavo Quinteros ended his contract with Oriente because he is now the new Bolivian national soccer team coach, and as posted in this Oriente website: http://www.daleooo.com/2010/11/quinteros-me-voy-feliz.html, Quinteros says he leaves happy. "This is the best way to leave a big team, with the cup in the hand. I leave happy, because we achieved our goal; this is a gift that all the fans were waiting for", were his words after the match. Winning this championship, gave Oriente $120,000 and a cupon to participate in the Copa Libertadores de America, South America's most important cup. This definitely was a great year for Oriente, they ended second in the Apertura championship, and won both the Winter Cup and the Clausura championship.
